Job Description: Part-Time Facility Manager

Reports to: Executive Pastor

Position Summary

The Facility Manager (FM) is responsible for the overall maintenance and efficient operation of the church building. The FM ensures that repairs are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner, ensures maintenance repair work is scheduled to minimize disruption to worship services and that the building remains functional for all ministry activities. The Facility Manager reports to the Executive Pastor and works closely with Administrative Staff, Fiscal Administrator, and Finance Lead to support the mission of First Christian through excellent facility stewardship.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of the church facility to identify maintenance and repair needs.
  • Perform minor repairs and coordinate with licensed professionals/contractors for major maintenance (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, church vans).
  • Monitor and maintain building systems to ensure proper operation (HVAC, lighting, security, fire safety, irrigation, etc.).
  • Schedule and oversee contractors for maintenance and repairs by soliciting quotes for work as needed and making recommendations for repair work; and verifies that contracted work is completed satisfactorily and within budget.
  • Maintain building physical security systems.
  • Ensure fire safety equipment and alarm systems are compliant with regulations; schedule and oversee inspections as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in facility management with working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural, and mechanical).
  • Capable of performing light maintenance and coordinating skilled work when necessary.
  • Reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision..

Work Schedule & Compensation

  • Approximately 10-15 hours per week, with flexible scheduling depending on maintenance needs and ministry events.
  • Occasional after-hours and weekend work may be required for time-sensitive issues or emergencies.
  • Hourly salary negotiable.
